Our former Treasurer, Lenore Sheward, a long-time supporter of the Terry Fox Run, has registered the Thornhill Garden and Horticultural Society as a Group/Team for 2026.

Time for a little art break? Member Duessa Du Plooy says:
"I recently attended a cyanotype workshop at The Village at Black Creek hosted by PH1 Studios in partnership with the Toronto Art Club. I immediately thought it would be a wonderful fit for our neighbourhood groups, as it beautifully combines heritage and nature. Cyanotype printing is a historic, camera-less photographic process invented in 1842 that creates striking blue-and-white silhouettes using leaves, flowers, and other natural materials."
We have reached out to Black Creek and PH1 Studios and obtained the list of workshops planned this year from August to October.

Back to class! Marion is starting her fall lecture series with a brand new talk—she’s been researching a lot of new plant material that has very recently been introduced to the market, and she’s looking forward to sharing that with you!
Attached you’ll find descriptions of the fall talks for this up-coming session, September to November. If you are new to these talks, please refer to the last page of the attachment for useful information and email me if you have any questions.
If you would like to register for one of the talks (or for all of them!), please email me once you’ve decided. Some of the classes fill up very quickly, so registration is essential since class size is limited to 25 people.
A reminder of the Open Garden/Plant Sale Dates: The October Open Garden is new--in order to show the fall colours and all of Marion’s Japanese maples. Why not bring a friend or relative and tour them through the garden of one of Canada’s best horticulturalists? Open Garden & Plant Sale: Saturday and Sunday, September 12 and 13, and October 24 and 25, 2026--10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Parking is available on the street—EAST of Marion’s driveway.
A BIG thank you for taking the time to write back to me that you’d like to remain on Marion’s email list. It helped a lot! Microsoft was really getting antsy about the large number of emails each month, so I was happy to have a more workable number to present to them.
